Exciting News!
"Nosing Around" has been chosen to be exhibited in the prestigious Birds In Art show at the Leigh Yawket Woodson Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin. the show runs from Sept6-Nov9th

"Treed", the coonhound bookends have taken Best in Show at the Buckhorn Valley Art Show at the Dog Show in Loveland,CO June 29th. I have always wante a best in show dog. Now I have a pack.

I am so excited about this new piece! The patina came out just right. Three little oxpecker birds sit on this youn giraffe as he bends down to take a drink. All four legs and its chin sit on the ground making it a very stable possibility for outdoor placement. His playful whimsey invites interaction. Place with "The Page Turner" it becomes "A Thirst for Knowledge"

Just to give you an idea of size.

The hornbill is turning the page of the book. It's so engrossed in what he is doing that he misses the little bookworm crawling up from below.
Placed with "Slurp" the grouping becomes "A Thirst for Knowledge".

"MMM...Tasty" In Hwange Park in Zimbabwe we observed many baboons. Our guide brought to light that we are so closely related that if we were to be lost and not know what to eat, we could survive by eating anything that a baboon eats. Someone brought up the observation that the baboons were eating termites. Oh yes, we could too. I suddenly had a problem with my camera.

There is nothing more exciting than watching a wild animal in its own environment. Zoos can provide some wonderful viewing as well and if one spends the time one can be rewarded with some wonderful behaviors. In Denver, two young giraffes were sparked by an approaching storm and started running and kicking around their enclosure. They were having an amazing amount of fun and I was treated to some wonderful movement studies.
