This is a mount of my '95 Wyoming Bighorn. My son Joe and I hunted a total of 22 days without luck. I had missed a nice ram earlier in the season. This Ram was taken the last hour of the last day. I made a lob job hail Mary shot while Joe spotted; I missed the first time! My excuse, I was breathing so hard from running up a steep grade of the mountain side to see where he was. He ran down hill then turned and ran back to exactly were he was. My second shot downed him. I was using the 30-06 I had inherited from my dad, he passed away in '86 of a heart attack while on a elk hunt here in Wyoming. Among other things, he was a gunsmith and master gun engraver. Last day, Joe with me helping , my dads prize personal rifle, 22 hard hunting days, LAST DAY; when we climbed up to the fallen ram I have to tell you I started to cry. You might also have noticed that I used this ram mount as a model for my bronze sculpture "Ram Country" see it on my jamesmarsico.com sight.
