Dennis Farris the Artist |
Dennis Farris was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. From an early age he expressed a keen interest in art and it was this passion that helped him win a scholarship to Central Missouri State University for his undergraduate degree in art.
Soon after graduating, Dennis moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1988 and began his career as a freelance illustrator. Throughout this time, he continued honing his skills as an oil painter; experimenting with various subjects, styles and techniques. It was not until he began studying The Hudson River School of artists that he discovered his passion for realistic landscapes. Dennis` work focuses on the grandeur and atmosphere of the Western landscape. Although most of his work has been centered in the Southwest, he has found the wide open spaces in Texas to be a favorite subject. Many of his paintings are set in West Texas and include Big Bend National Park, the Devils River, and the Hill Country.
He is currently represented by:
Sage Creek Gallery and
