Toni Young - Matthew Hillier - Beartooth School of Art
Matthew Hillier

Matthew Hillier's extraordinary wildlife paintings offer the viewer a unique vantage point. His paintings express more than the physical characteristics of a species; they reveal something of its personality. Now living in the United States, Matthew Hillier was born in Buckinghamshire, England and grew up near Windsor Castle. Drawing and painting animals is something he has loved to do since he was a child. Matthew's father was a museum designer who taught his son the rudiments of painting with watercolors, a medium Matthew used during his years as an illustrator, along with gouache. In recent years, he made the transition from illustrator to wildlife artist, and also switched to acrylic because it involves a looser painting process. Matthew is one of the funniest and most personable artists in our field!

Toni Young - Terry Isaac - Beartooth School of Art
Terry Isaac

From the most delicate songbirds to the wildest canids, Terry Isaac is an artist who paints his wildlife subjects and their habitats with great precision and expertise, skillfully capturing the interplay of light and shadow to bring the spirit of the wild to life in his compelling paintings. "Magical moments in nature are all a matter of timing - being at the right place at the right time." Terry believes: "to be a good artist, you need to be a good observer." One of the most enjoyable aspects of his work is the pleasure he gets from nature, which always provides him with an endless source of new ideas.Terry is truly a loveable and likeable character whom everyone embraces right from the start.

Paco Young

Paco's work reflects a level of maturity that comes only from years of passionate work and dedication. He's finally found his way as a painter. Painting en plein air or, outdoors on location is the one process which he says has taught him the most about painting as well as being his favorite way to work. By painting outdoors "an artist learns to paint quickly, distilling the landscape into it's essential elements, simplifying shapes and capturing light before it changes - this is real painting". Paco believes artists should paint in a manner that reflects who they are. "I'm rough-around-the-edges, so are my paintings. I'm impatient and restless, my paintings are direct and not burdened with needless detail. Paintings should be honest, passionate and from the artist's heart, trends and markets be damned. I paint what I want, the way I want and this keeps me passionate about each and every painting. I now understand the beauty of moving paint, the process of painting and the expression of my ideas." Paco is kown for being direct, honest and his sense of humor will insure a great time for all!
